One of The Queen's first cousins, Lady Mary Colman, has died. She was 88. Lady Mary passed away at her home in Norfolk in the first days of the New Year. The Queen is said to be saddened by her loss.
Lady Mary was the daughter of Michael Bowes-Lyon, an older brother of Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother. She was born Mary Cecilia in 1932 and grew up in Bedfordshir. She married Timothy Colman at the age of 19 and they had five children together. Her family said that everyone who met her, loved her.
Lady Mary shared her middle name with her maternal grandmother who was born Cecilia Nina Cavendish-Bentinck.
